Education
Currently working as a postdoctoral research associate at Wesleyan University, I am a Physicist with PhD from University of Leeds (England). I also hold an MSc degree in Electronics Communication Engineering from the same university as above and a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Anna University (India). I have helped prepare students for SAT Math, Physics and general science. Additionally, I have taught students with university 1st year level course in mathematics and physics. Some of my previous students who once feared subjects, have now passed with flying colors (> 80% score) in Math and Physics.
Experience
I have previously taught Mathematics, Physics and Science at GCSE (high school SAT level equivalent), and college levels to many students while my stay in Leeds. From the past experiences with my students, I have helped prepare students to gain confidence and skills in subjects they use to fear such as math and physics. I want to become tutor because I enjoy sharing my knowledge in educating the next generation. I would be assessing the tuttee first to know his or her level in relevant subjects, following which I would decide on individual basis on how to proceed with him or her. This would include an in-depth approach to subjects depending upon the level of the tutee, and by taking up exercises on a regular basis at different levels. Students personally fear from mathematics and in order to overcome this, I would give as many examples as possible on a particular type of problem, and then teach the student on how to solve a particular problem from different techniques. An overall final assessment (which I would prepare as an internal examiner) is required to make sure the student is ready for the exams at the school/university.
